What has come to be known as the culture wars seems to have two chief components: abortion and homosexual marriage.
Since political issues don’t seem to be welcome here and rather than get into the latter as a political issue, I’d like to get at the basis for the objection to such marriages. However there seem to be preliminary problems regarding trolling and offensiveness.
I believe that the majority of people think that homosexuality is a sexual perversion and/or unnatural and oppose homosexual marriage on that basis. The problem is that if one tries to discuss the pros and cons of that specific point objectively and open-mindedly such a discussion can be interpreted as either tolling or offensive.
Do I have that right? And is there a way around that dilemma?
