Greetings Historyteach and fellow smoking cessation members

I have been smoke/nicotine-free for 4 years and 6 months and can honestly say it is the best gift :day6 that
    a person can give to him/herself :a122:

I haven’t forgotten all the support I received here (and at Making Smoking History, who got me here). For all you newcomers, you’re in the right place. It takes confidence to stop smoking and you’ll gain lots of motivation here as well. My best advice is to remember the acronyms: NOPE meaning “Not One Puff Ever” and PBYP = post before you puff and NQQ – Never Quit Quitting. If you can distract your thought away for just a few seconds -SECONDS- you will beat the craving. Cravings do become fewer and fewer as the weeks go on. And you will feel terrific! You Can Do This!!! (coming from a pack to 1 1/2 pack a day former smoker of about 35 years).

Anyway I just wanted to say hello and thank you for the birthday message, which really made my day. You are all the best.

    Cess101
